Style, Confidence, Success
Growing up I was not very much into clothes, until I turned 16-17 yrs old, that’s when I actually started picking up buying more clothes, being more aware of what I was wearing and what other people were wearing. I started making my own money being a Gymnastics instructor, which was a big step into being able to buy clothes. So I remember my first very big purchase was a black Roberto Cavalli winter coat and it was a big deal! It was expensive for me at the time. I was a little nervous about it, but I went for it. I wore it for a year and then I threw it out!
think I had a stretch from 16 - 22 where I tried on alot of different things. Some outfits where great, some outfits were horrific, but I have learned from my mistakes. I have found my style, of what I like, what I feel comfortable with. But it took me a few years to find that. I think there's a time in your life when you search for your answers. Now I dress the way I feel comfortable and it feels like its me.
It all got topped up in one of my visits to Italy, a friend introduced me to Italian tailors that make Hugo Boss clothing and shoe makers for the Louis Vuitton Group. I was able to specify the way I wanted my clothes to fit. 95% of all my shoes today are custom made. I specify the exact shape of the shoe and I handpick the material I want them made in. When something fits your right, you feel more confident.
Here is a secret people never tell you: contrary to popular belief, custom made clothes and shoes are more affordable than buying designer clothes. It is cheaper to have a custom-made shirt ( that will actually make you look slim and feel confident ) than to drop $150 in a Hugo Boss shirt.
For me style is the little nuances that you put into a fine tailored piece. I like things when they fit. I like well fitted suits, well fitted shirts, I like the tie to be in a certain way, I like my pants to be skinny and fitted. If you accessorize it with simple pieces like a nice watch or elegant shoes, it just carries you a long way.
You just have to find your little niche, of how you want to dress yourself. "Fashion" is the base of what you can choose from and "Style" is basically what you make out of it.
Style + Confidence = Success. Everyone is scared to experiment new things… Don't be scared!
