Luxury Basics: The Power of The V-Neck
Although the concept is pretty foreign to most American consumers, Scandinavians live by their “Luxury Basics.” Meaning, Scandi's buy higher quality, more expensive products for their day-to-day wear and spend very little on their spontaneous buys.
The pieces you wear every day should be of such a high quality that you want to wear them every day. The fabrics should be luxurious and the fit should be perfect. Think of it as "Luxury Basics”. On this picture I am wearing a cotton t-shirt from James Perse, I 'm a huge fan of this brand because of the seamless blend of luxe and casual. The cotton is silky-soft on the skin, the cut is tailored flawlessly, giving the illusion of a slimming effect. I have owned this t-shirt for 3 years, probably worn it a 1000 times and it still looks brand new, there is no pilling cotton balls, shrinkage or deforming.
When investing in a basic white-t, I would go for a V-neck. The V-neck has the power to make you look taller, slimmer and proportional to your frame by drawing the eyes upward toward your face!
A high quality tee, you can wear it with: shorts, jeans, dressed up under a blue blazer or chunky-knit cardigan and it will allways give the feeling of sophistication with simplicity. That's the difference between spending $50 on a good quality t-shirt that will make you look sharp + feel confident every time you wear it. vs. those $10 t-shirts from Old Navy/ Hanes or H&M whose cut usually drape downward without any shape, making you look bulgy.
I love simple. But I love simple with an edge, so I threw on these Python-skin vans sneakers. I love the monochromatic colors of the exotic skin. This Italian brand has the most comfortable and bad-ass shoes I've ever worn.
